Roles
The four roles in a Nixt Office organisation — owner, administrator, billing and member — what each may do, and how to change or remove someone.
Everyone in an organisation has one of four roles.
| What they may do | Owner | Administrator | Billing | Member |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| See the organisation, its people, deployments and licences | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Invite people, cancel invitations, change roles, remove people | Yes | Yes | — | — |
| Add a Nixt DNA Server deployment | Yes | Yes | — | — |
| Download and renew licences | Yes | Yes | Yes | — |
| Make someone an owner, or change or remove an owner | Yes | — | — | — |
| Leave the organisation | Yes, if another owner remains | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Change someone’s role
- In the organisation’s People list, find the person.
- Choose their new role from the list beside their name.
The change takes effect at once, and the page says, for example, Ada Lovelace is now administrator.
Remove someone
In the People list, choose Remove beside the person, and confirm. They need a new invitation to come back.
Owners
An organisation always has at least one owner. The last owner cannot be removed, cannot have their role changed and cannot leave; you see An organisation always has an owner. Make someone else an owner first. Make a second person an owner, then make the change.
Only an owner can make someone an owner, change an owner’s role or remove an owner. An administrator who tries sees Only an owner can make someone an owner or change an owner’s role.
