Nixt DNA Server licences
Get the free Nixt DNA Server licence for a deployment you run yourself, download its two files, and renew it each year.
A Nixt DNA Server licence is a pair of files: licence.json, which says who the server is licensed to and what it allows, and licence.json.sig, its signature. The server checks the signature itself, offline, so it never needs to reach us to use its licence.
This page is about getting the files. Installing them on the server, and what the server does when a licence runs out, are on the server’s Licences page.
The free licence
Deployments you run yourself — On-premise and Your own cloud, run by you — get a free licence at once when you add the deployment. It covers:
- up to 25 mailboxes: people who sign in. Aliases and shared mailboxes do not count;
- one domain;
- one organisation on the server;
- one server;
- every security feature.
It runs for a year from the day it is issued, and renewing it is free.
Licences for deployments we run come with their subscription and are not issued on this page.
Download the files
Owners, administrators and people in billing can download licences.
- Sign in, go to Your account, and choose the organisation.
- Under Nixt Server, find the deployment. Each licence is listed with the day it was issued and the day it is valid until (or expired).
- Choose Download licence.json and Download licence.json.sig.
Keep the two files together, with these names: the server looks for the signature beside the licence, named after it with .sig added.
Renew
Before the licence runs out:
- Under the deployment, choose Renew for a year.
- Download both new files, and put them on the server in place of the old ones. See Install a licence.
The page says when the new licence runs until. The old licence stays listed, so you can see each one you were issued.
