Team
The Team view in Nixt Mail — a directory of the people you correspond with, and who is waiting on a reply from you.
The Team view is a directory of the people you exchange mail with, built from your own mailbox. It puts the people who are waiting on a reply from you first, so you can see at a glance who you owe an answer.
To open it, click Team in the module rail, or choose View › Team.
What you see
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Team | The title, with the number of people and how many are waiting, such as 42 people · 5 awaiting a reply. Under it: Everyone who has written to you, from the mailbox itself. |
| Search box | Search name, email or company. |
| Account filter | All accounts and one button per account. Shown when more than one account is connected. |
| DIRECTORY | A card for each person. |
If no account is connected, the view says No account is connected, so there is no correspondence to read yet.
The person cards
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Initials | The person’s initials in a colour. An amber dot is added when they are waiting on a reply from you. |
| Name | The name they most recently used, or their address if they never gave one. |
| N waiting | How many of their messages you have not replied to. Shown only when there are some. |
| Domain | The part of their address after the @ — the closest thing to their organisation that a mailbox can tell. |
| Address | Their email address. |
| N messages | How many of their messages Nixt Mail has read. |
| Last heard from | How long since they last wrote: just now, or a time such as 5m ago, 3h ago, 2d ago, 3w ago or 1y ago. |
Point at a card to show Message name, which opens the compose window addressed to them.
If the compose window already has a message in it, a dialog asks Replace your unsent draft? — Compose already has a message in it. Writing to name will discard what is there. Choose Discard to start the new message, or Keep draft.
How the directory is built
- From your mail. For each message, Nixt Mail reads who sent it, when, and whether you have replied — the same “answered” mark your mail server keeps. It does not read message bodies for this.
- Waiting first. People with messages you have not answered come first, then everyone else, most recent first.
- Per account. Someone who writes to two of your addresses appears twice, once in each account’s directory.
- Not you. Your own addresses, from every connected account, are left out.
- Recent mail only. The directory is built from the same recent messages as the Documents view and Calendar invitations. To look further back, click Look further back under the Documents grid or under Calendar; the Team view follows. See How far back Documents looks.
“Waiting” counts every message from that person without a reply, including mail that never needed one.
Search and filter
- Type in Search name, email or company to show people whose name, address or domain contains what you typed. Press Esc, or click the ✕ (Clear search), to clear it.
- With more than one account, choose All accounts or one account to see that account’s directory.
When the view is empty
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Reading your correspondence… | The directory is still being built. |
| Nobody matches that. | Your search found no one. |
| Nixt Mail could not read the mailbox, so this is not empty — it is unknown. | Reading the mailbox failed. The reason follows. Check the account’s connection. |
| Nobody has written to you in the mail Nixt Mail has read so far. | No messages from other people were found. |
| Connect an account and the people you correspond with appear here. | No account is connected. |
